If You are Taking Long Showers it’s Time to Find a New Job

When I was in my mid- twenties I had a boss who was a great mentor and communicator.  He was always sharing pearls of wisdom.  His stories were amusing, relevant and intentional.

I remember him telling me that when you found yourself taking really long showers every morning, you need to start looking for a new job.

I wasn’t taking really long showers but I did understand what he was trying to say.  When you procrastinate about going to work there is a reason and if you don’t want to go to work then you need to find something else to do.

I was in sales at the time.  I drove all over Southern Vermont trying to sell radio advertising.  I really didn’t like it and wasn’t making much money.  So instead of the long showers I found myself coming home really early.  Instead of parking in front of my house where my boss might drive by and see my car – I would drive around the side of my house and park directly behind the house (on the lawn) so he wouldn’t see my car if he drove by.

One day as I walked out the back door to get my car at the end of the day when I should have been getting home – I realized this was my long shower and it was time for me to move on to a new job.

I knew what it was that I wanted to do.  It has taken me 20 years to actually do it.  I’ve searched for my work from home dream job for a long time.  I’ve had varied success with different jobs.  I can now say after a lot of exploration and research that I have found my dream job.

I have become a part of a community of like minded people who are helping me reach and surpass my goals.  And the best part is that I started for free.  Are you taking long showers? Do you want to find out more about what has me so excited that every morning I actually get up super early just to get the day started?  Forget the long showers, sometimes I even skip the shower because I am so excited to start my day! – Click here to see what all of the excitement is about!!
